v  COMPOUND METAL STRIP

Comprising two strips each of different metal but same size fitted on an insulated handle, on heating the compound strip bends into curvature with metal having more coefficiant of expansion on concave side and other one on convex side but returns back to its original shape on cooling. It shows the unequal or differential expansion of two different metals in a bimetallic strip. Available in Brass & Invar, Copper & Iron, Brass & Steel and Brass & Iron.
